Exciting things happen when you have a group of dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors and a strong vocal community! For the first time ever, the local Municipality has agreed to pay for the salaries of two full-time lifeguards!
This is a major development, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work, vision and persistence of our committee directors, dedicated sponsors, Municipal Council and Mayor’s office of Osa Municipality. Combined with community support, we can train and utilize more lifeguards during holidays and peak season, purchase essential supplies and protect larger stretches of our beautiful Costa Ballena coastline.
Semana Santa Classic
So THANK YOU everyone involved, and especially to the community who contributes regularly to the lifeguard program! And speaking of generous donors, the Dominical Easter Week Classic Surf Competition was a HUGE success again this year. Besides having a lot of fun, they raised over $1,200 for the lifeguards! Congratulations to the organizers, sponsors and participants!
Our final piece of exciting news… The July 4th Lifeguard Party is back! For almost 20 years, the July 4th Lifeguard Party has been the biggest social event of the year, and we are very happy to announce that Roca Verde in Dominical will be hosting it for 2016.
Expect great food, BIG raffle prizes, a silent auction, live music and fun activities for the whole family. We hope to see you there!
