Nauyaca Waterfalls Tour #1 : Hiking

One of the falls is forty-five meters high in free fall and the other, twenty meters high with a tiered fall, forming at the bottom a 1,000 square meter and six meter deep pool.

There are also other smaller natural pools where visitors can seize the opportunity and enjoy the waters with their families or friends.

Nauyaca Waterfalls is the ideal place for nature and adventure lovers, where tourists can walk, swim, climb, jump, take photographs and spend a marvelous day in the warm waters of Rio Barucito, enjoying one of the most beautiful places in Costa Rica’s South Pacific.

Waterfall Tour #2:  Horseback Riding

To start your day, you will be served a light, tropical breakfast on the outdoor patio overlooking the panoramic Diamante waterfall valley. You will meet your professional bilingual guides, get friendly with your horse, and then we will saddle up. The ride descends from San Salvaldor de Baru along a ridgetop trail, where you will enjoy breathtaking vistas as you enter the jungle. Once in the Barucito River Valley, the trail follows the river through the incredibly diverse rainforest ecosystem to our Campground Welcome Center.

After you have changed into your swimwear, our guides will whisk you across the Baru River in an aerial tram arriving at the bottom of the majestic Baru Falls. The river and the lower pool of the falls are a magical place to swim, play, explore, or just relax on the shore. For the thrill seekers, there are multiple places to jump off the falls into the deep, clear water of the jungle oasis.

At the Campground Welcome Center, you can freshen up for your ride back to Tres Amigos where we serve you lunch on the patio while you enjoy fresh mountain air and the spectacular Diamante Falls.

Rappelling Baru Falls

Tour Package is set atop beautiful Baru Falls which has 2 different picturesque waterfalls ranging from 60 to 120ft. You can reach this location either by a 30-minute hike along a panoramic ridgetop into the valley below. Once at the falls, you are first trained on how to properly and safely rappel on a small training hill. After completion of this training, you begin your exciting 120 ft rappel down the face side of Baru Falls.Once you complete the rappel, there is a short hike to a spectacular viewpoint at the bottom of both waterfalls where there is a large natural 20ft deep swimming hole.

Waterfall Tour #4 : Natuga Natural Reserve

Natuga reserve -South Pacific

The Natuga Natural Reserve is part of the Corredor Biológico Paso de la Danta (Paso de la Danta or “Danta Pass” Biological Corridor) and is a member of the  Costa Rica Network of Natural Reserves . There are 40 hectares dedicated to wildlife protection and the practice of responsible tourism.

The adventure begins in our customized Toyota 4×4, on the way to the Natural Reserve through the rain forest.

After crossing a bridge over the Barú River we continue on the road discovering several sparkling streams which rise in the reserve.

We then leave the car and follow the hiking trail to the Hidden Waterfalls, a close contact experience with the rain forest where you will see the rich biodiversity while swimming in the natural pools under the waterfalls.

Continuing on the road in the 4×4 until the top of the Coast Range – to appreciate the 360-degree view, Punta Dominical, Caño Island, and El Diamante Waterfall are some of the natural jewels that you see on a clear day.

Finally, with the sound of the crystal waters of the creek as background music, you will enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch wrapped in banana leaves.

Attractions: Rivers, waterfalls, natural pools, hiking trail, panoramic views (Punta Dominical, Caño Island, El Diamante Waterfall, Mountains), typical food and all the fun of the ride in the 4×4.
