I am currently pregnant with my second girl. Although I have gone through some of the pregnancy’s discomforts, both pregnancies have been a very nice and smooth journey.
I believe the practice of yoga, eating healthfully, and keeping a positive and strong mind have been some of the key elements to enjoy this sacred process in the best possible way.
Pregnancy is a wonderful time to practice yoga. From my personal experience, yoga during pregnancy (practiced correctly and under the right guidance) will keep your body strong and healthy. It’s definitely a great aid to ease or avoid some of the pain and difficulties women have to deal with. It will make your body more flexible and open in preparation for childbirth, and it helps you with a better recovery after birth.
But more importantly, the yoga’s biggest contribution during pregnancy relies on the beneficial effects over your mental and emotional state. A solid practice of yoga and meditation during pregnancy will keep you calm, grounded, and positive to help you overcome all those fears and insecurities that may arise during the journey and will reduce the stress we absorb in our daily lives, something our babies don’t need.
In general, yoga helps create a peaceful and healthy environment where our little ones can be nurtured and grow safely to get ready to go out and face the world. Namaste!
