The Wiz of Oz, Timeless Fantasy in June!
by Pied Piper Productions & Jungle Arts and Dance
In 1904, novelist Frank L. Baum achieved success with his book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In 1939, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer presented this iconic film with Judy Garland with a captivating musical score that survived for the enjoyment of the children. Sharon said: “my lifetime mission is to offer opportunities for children to explore the joys of performing in live theater, giving them a sense of community, bonding with others with a joint goal to bring joy to everybody. Bringing Wiz of Oz here is one of the biggest thrills of my life”!
And Kelly follows: “Adding songs from 1978 movie “The Wiz”, allowed us to incorporate elements of funk to this classic in Jungle Arts and Dance style! Since 2010, the dedication, talent, and enthusiasm for the performing arts of JAD children (4-18) have encouraged us to evolve from recitals to musical theater productions!
Offering a program that focuses on dancing, drama, and singing gives confidence and improves self-expression. it’s beautiful to work together to make this a success!”
Sara resolves: “Coming from a life-long love for theater and musical, being part of this production is the realization of a dream. The stage is the place where I can express myself wholeheartedly, and through singing, acting and dancing the character’s emotions become one with the audience. We are thrilled and proud of what we are bringing to the kids and the impact it can have on the community.”
“We hope that you will enjoy our show! our highest hope is to show how entertainment can not only be of great educational value but economically beneficial to this area as well, with the dream being to gather allies and resources to give birth to the Costa Ballena Theater and Art Center.”
