WHALE AND DOLPHIN WATCHING TOUR

The waters surrounding Marino Ballena National Park are ideal for whale watching  tour, as the clear, deep blue water allows for easy viewing. The most frequently spotted species in this area include Humpback and Pilot Whales Bottlenose and Spotted Dolphins and other marine life. As always with this type of tour, the presence and exact location of these sea creatures are unpredictable. Although sightings cannot be guaranteed, they are frequent in these waters.

During whale watching tour, we search for humpback whales, listen to their love songs and feel the great sensation of watching a mammal that weighs more than 40 tons jumping out of the water and splash its gigantic tail.

The humpback whales are in this area between July and November and again between December and March. They arrive alternatively from the Northern or the Southern hemisphere to breed in the warm waters on the South Pacific coastline.

Tour departs from Punta Uvita Beach during the trip sea turtles, dolphins, stingrays, and other marine life are commonly seen out in the water. The dolphin populations are resident, so it is usual to see them more often. You´ll visit “Roca Ballena” to watch birds and the Ventanas Beach Caves. The tour also includes some time for swim and snorkeling depending on climate conditions.

In the Costa Rican South Pacific Ocean dolphins can be seen all over the year. MORE>>>
