Dominical is not only a town known for its surfing, it’s known for the many activities that it offers. Just within the small town, you have many options for fitness activities aside from surfing, stand-up paddle at the Barú River, or diving tours offered throughout each day. Take a moment to notice how are fit the locals. It is obvious that a healthy lifestyle is a priority. While everyone has their own preferences in sports activities, Dominical has the capability to offer something for everyone.

Every morning and evening Danyasa offers classes of various yoga styles. You can also find free weekly morning beach workouts with the Costa Ballena Lifeguards, friendly soccer matches in the evenings, Systema classes and workshops at Pueblo Del Rio on the weekend, long distance beach and cross country running with Dave and Debbi West, or yoga at the Friday EcoFeria farmer’s market. And now Patron’s has an indoor gym with outdoor cross-training facilities and a rock climbing wall. The gym at Patron’s is new to Dominical’s fitness program. Daily and monthly passes are available for the use of a wide variety of brand new workout equipment in an Air-Conditioned environment. Outside on the patio are mats you can set up for an array of cross-training workouts complete with tires, dumbbells and ropes. For those looking to get more extreme, the rock wall has planned routes to the top ranging in difficulty. As a result of all the activities, many fitness groups have formed motivating each other into progression. Regardless of your budget, there are multiple activities to choose from. The high level of fitness in locals has been certainly more noticeable and it’s great to see the general health of the town thrive! There is no excuse not to be active here!
