They gave it all up…
~ by Dagmar Reinhard
They gave it all up……and made it happen when they recently moved to Costa Rica with their family.
Shopi still remembers that moment, 13 years ago, when he made a decision to change his life. He made a move, left his home country, and started following what he really wanted to do.
Since then, Shopi has been travelling around the world and building a career as a hospitality manager, working for companies such as Intercontinental Hotels and Coca-Cola. In 2007, he settled in New Zealand with his wife Nora. They have been travelling, living, and working in multiple locations throughout that whole country. This was where they got married and had their first child, a little “kiwi”. Shopi’s passion for photography started about 16 years ago, when he got his first film camera. Over the years, he has become a self-taught photographer, and gained knowledge about photo & videography.
His dream was to do this full-time one day.
Nowadays, he works with his brother, Greg. Both of them actually have experience in the same field, hospitality, and have a passion for photo & videography. Since they have worked together for many years, Shopi and Greg have a great understating of clients’ needs within the service industry. They joined forces in New Zealand a few years ago, and started working on various projects while working full-time in their everyday jobs. It was tough, but hard work paid off.
The opportunity came to them to relocate to this beautiful part of the world and continue doing what they loved the most, besides travelling. Consequently, Shopi and his wife made a huge decision: gave everything up (literally), put their belongings into five bags, and started their new adventure in Costa Rica, Central America.
