The Gym Uvita

We interviewed gym managers and instructors, Jesús Sánchez Morell and Maryori Gómez Chávez; they are professionals with fitness credentials, bodybuilding expertise, and personal trainer’s skills. Maryori is a nutritionist; together they create a professional team highly efficient. A year and a half ago, they introduced in Uvita martial arts, and among them Muay Thai, a combat sport originated in Thailand. It is a physical and mental discipline, which includes combat on foot; it incorporates all the limbs of the body like fists, elbows, knees, tibias , and feet. The sport is an art form and a true test of one’s character, those who practice Muay Thai experience tranquility, mental, and physical balance.

Both instructors are vegetarians, the absence of meat protein in their diets, do not affect their body’s performance; they actually look full of energy, radiant, and with a remarkable vital force.

Regardless of gender, they instruct young and old in self-defense. When we asked for “personal training,” they explained the process: first, they perform a test to determine the physical level; Maryori evaluates the eating habits, and her first advice will always be to limit the consumption of refined sugar. Shortly after, they establish a daily routine with the customer. Between two and five weeks later, it is possible to notice a significant weight loss and a boost of energy.

The Gym Uvita offers a wide range of training modalities with different instructors. It is worth taking a class; chances are that you will feel a lot healthier.
