The Flutterby House at the beach
If you haven’t been to the Flutterby House in a while, then you’re in for a treat during your next visit. After recently celebrating their 8th anniversary, and completing weeks of major renovations, Flutterby has entered the New Year with a fresh upgraded look. It includes an exciting lineup of events and activities and features that make Flutterby your perfect ‘base camp’ for a beach day in the Marino Ballena National Park.
Flutterby is best-known as Uvita’s friendly, funky beach hostel, TripAdvisor’s #1-rated specialty lodging in the area and host of the region’s most epic costume parties. However, this popular social hub has a lot more to offer than a traditional hostel. Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat, a surf or boogie board to rent, a secure location to park your car and store your belongings, a game of ping-pong, or a place to meet new friends, Flutterby has something for everyone. All of the facilities at Flutterby are open to the public!
The restaurant at Flutterby is open seven days a week (7 am - 8 pm), serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers generous alternatives for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free patrons, boasts affordable prices. The kitchen proudly features healthy, organic and locally-sourced ingredients, and the bar offers an impressive craft beer selection.
With nightly happy hours starting at 5 pm, and fun weekly activities like Locals’ Night Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays and Open-Mic Fridays, the bar scene at Flutterby attracts a refreshing mix of travelers, locals, ex-pats and people of all ages, looking to eat, drink and mingle with others from all around the planet.
If your curiosity is piqued, check their website and be sure to stop by The Flutterby House the next time you’re in Bahia. Best of all it is only a 5-minute walk from the beach!
