Who the heck is South Pacific Costa Rica Real Estate?
We’re a small, family-owned firm of two people – a Costa Rican national and a North American expat – and we’ve just opened a boutique real estate firm here in South Pacific Costa Rica. Our unique Tico-Gringa blend delivers you an extensive portfolio of real estate expertise and experience over a 25-year period, during which we worked in Costa Rica, the United States and Panama.
Why did we choose to get into real estate in South Pacific Costa Rica at this point in time?
Good question. The easy answer is that we love Costa Rica’s South Pacific. Each of us relocated to this region in 2015 – for work opportunities – and became enamored with this slice of heaven where the mountains meet the Pacific Ocean and the call of the wild cannot be ignored. After we’d fallen in love with the area, we met and fell in love with each other, and we’ve called Costa Ballena home ever since.

Who is Yor
Yor (pronounced like ‘York’ but without the K) has worked along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica for more than 25 years. He returned to real estate sales (in this region a year ago with another firm) after having owned his own brokerage along Costa Rica’s Central Coast where he single-handedly sold more than $8 million in the late 2000’s. His years in the tourism industry working with English-speaking visitors to Costa Rica include 15-years of operating and managing small and medium-sized luxury hotels, in addition to extensive experience in private property management. (He also spent five years in New York City in the high-end food and beverage industry, so you can believe that he knows about good customer service and a great slice of NY pie!)
Yor holds a Master’s in Hospitality from the ULACIT and grew up near San Jose, Costa Rica. He is proud to be one of the few remaining members of the Maleku tribe, indigenous to Costa Rica. Yor speaks fluent Spanish and English.
Who is JuliAnne
JuliAnne moved abroad in 2008 when she was recruited to form part of the senior leadership team that launched the redevelopment of the former U.S. Air Force base into a new city: Panama Pacifico. In that stead, she took the new master-planned community and Special Economic Area to worldwide recognition over a six-year period via her expertise in international marketing and communications.
At the conclusion of her time at Panama Pacifico with private developer London & Regional Panama, the project was awarded Gold in two categories at The Nationals by The National Association of Home Builders in the U.S.: Best Community Branding & Best International Marketing Campaign.
JuliAnne also spoke on behalf of Panama Pacifico at the 2013 annual Fall meeting of the Urban Land Institute – the development industry’s worldwide best practices organization – regarding sustainable best practices on the multi-billion dollar development.
JuliAnne worked on some of the largest real estate projects in the United States: the construction of the Denver Broncos stadium, Sports Authority Field at Mile High; T-REX, the largest multimodal build-out of highway and light rail improvements in the United States; and Stapleton, the 4,700 acre redevelopment of the former international airport in Denver, Colorado. JuliAnne grew up in small-town, conservative Arkansas, where she graduated from the University of Arkansas. She speaks fluent English and Spanish.
