RETRO Restaurant, Cafe & Bar - a different gastronomic experience
AUTHOR: DAGMAR REINHARD
The new Retro Gluten-Free Restaurant is located on the top floor of the Pacific Pools building. Its design, created by the owner herself, is inspired by the style of the 80s and 90s. It has an elegant area with lounge, tropical decoration, large terraces, quiet atmosphere, pleasant music, parking, high-speed Wifi, and is removed from the noise of the road.
The facilities are bright, fresh, and have terraces with views of nature. In the interior area (A / C), they opted for large windows with panoramic views. The atmosphere is lovely and a perfect setting for a romantic evening.
The chef works with organic products from the area. His specialty is seafood, and his passion is to create gourmet dishes of the coast "without losing the roots." Recipes inspired by Mediterranean food stand out on the menu. The incredible thing is the live smoked, based on the modern current of molecular gastronomy or very modern cuisine, enjoy the Smoked Octopus and with your children, a Retro Dragon dessert, prepared with nitrogen.
The chef perfectly understands the importance of a gluten-free menu, and that distinction is printed in the Retro Restaurant's gastronomic offer: 100% Gluten-Free.
The sommelier/barista suggests that the chef's creations deserve to be accompanied by the right wine. There is ample selection so that the diner's experience is more than pleasant. The list of exquisite hot and cold coffees is extensive.
100% Gluten-Free Restaurant.
Gourmet seafood and meat menus. Extensive wine list. Vegetarian and children's dishes. Saturday Special: Fried Snapper.

Back to the Earth
In each magazine edition, writers often relate to a topic relevant to the particular timing of the publication. Unfortunately, we are all writing with heavy hearts about the loss of Dagmar in this issue. Her vibrant personality and dedication to this magazine will surely be missed.

An unforgettable Tour to Caño Island
I had the opportunity to take a Caño Island tour. Since I was a little kid, I have loved swimming in the ocean and looking out for all the sea creatures.

The Bees – a Beautiful Example
In Costa Rica, we have over 50 species of bees. From the Apis melifera (an introduced species), to many others that have co-evolved with native plants.

Path of the Tapir Biological Corridor
Birth of the environmental movement in Costa Ballena.
At the beginning of the last century, tapirs, jaguars, white-lipped peccary, red brocket deer, harpy eagles, giant anteaters, and others wandered freely through the forests in the area that today is known as the Costa Ballena and the Path of the Tapir Biological Corridor.
