In July, Bahía was the center of attraction. On July 9 anMulticultural Fair - Logod 10, the first Multicultural Fair was held at the community hall in Bahía Ballena. A great variety of colorful booths displayed gourmet food, Bioley wines, Pakistani rugs, and delicate crafts. The Whale Tail Brewery served its refreshing beer after 11 am, mind you! A young woman was skillfully braiding a customer's hair.

A great event was the ZuguaCross with a 1.7 km race and the Canine Sympathy contest, organized by the Costa Ballena Veterinary Center. Prizes were awarded for the best dressed, most likable, biggest or fattest dog, and the best tricks. "Dwarf" was the name of a giant dog with a head the size of a cow… Can you imagine?

Next came a workshop by Innocenana for the children. The cocotero, as they affectionately call David showed how to open a coconut with ease once you have the practice. Later the Diablitos de Boruco arrived, presenting their games on the adjacent soccer field where they tried to knock down the bull (the invader). Music by Official Anke and DJ Saturna animated the visitors. The Cas Chi Indigenous Theater and the presentation of Michelle's Interpersonal closed the first day of the Multicultural Fair with a flourish.

Sunday morning began with a Yoga class taught by the Akka Studio in Ojochal. The little ones, many of them for the first time, had a great time with typical games their parents used when children.

Taekwondo: what a good presentation the Brun-K Tae Academy gave! The most advanced students mastered breaking wooden boards with a kick held at two meters. A little boy about two or three years old, captivated, observed the precise and fast movements and caused laughter trying to imitate the big ones. Then the instructor incorporated all the children who were eager to participate. Excellent!

Omri & Tamar are from Israel and transported the public to where they wanted to travel with their songs. "This is Rock" was the contribution of Piel de Naranja, and the Grupo Los Aliens closed the first of many Multicultural Fairs in Bahía Ballena.

The Integral Development Association of Uvita stood out with the Multicultural Fair's organization. Melissa Rivel, promoter of the project, led the initiative, accompanied by Evelyn Centeno, Tania Calderón, Ariela Dengo, Frenesy Ríos, a large team of volunteers, and Marcela Sequeira, president of the Uvita Integral Development Association.

Special thanks to all the sponsors and people who collaborated to make the first Multicultural Fair possible.
