Hotel El Tecal and Restaurant La Colonia
AUTHOR: Tina Howitz
Do you need a break from your stressful life? Then you should come to Costa Rica and try the “Pura Vida” lifestyle for once. Come to Uvita in the South Pacific of Costa Rica and see how easy life can be.
In Uvita, you should stay at the beautiful El Tecal hotel. The hotel is located close to beautiful Playa Colonia. Everything you may want to see while your trip is only a few minutes away.

Imagine your trip. When you arrive at the Hotel El Tecal in Uvita, the staff will welcome you warmly. You have been in the car for several hours and want to relax afterward. The hotel has two pools to swim and relax. Or you want to walk around the town to get some movement in. So start walking, and you will find cafés, restaurants, souvenir stores, and liquor stores.
Do you want to eat dinner in the evening? Good that the restaurant La Colonia belongs to the hotel's offer and specializes in seafood, so we suggest trying one of the many options. Are you not the biggest seafood fan? No Problem; the restaurant offers local and international cuisine, including vegetarian dishes. And the best thing after that long day is you can walk a minute back to your hotel room and fall into your bed.
The next day you will start your day with a delicious breakfast at the Restaurant La Colonia. Afterward, you will go to Playa Colonia. On the beach, you can walk to the famous whale tail, or for the more adventurous part; you can rent a surfboard and try to surf. The beach belongs to the Marino Ballena National Park, so it is entirely natural.
Another activity we would suggest to you while your trip is a whale watching tour. Jump on a boat and look around. You may not only see whales on tour. On time, they often see dolphins and other beautiful sea creatures. Just ask the friendly hotel staff for information about adventure options. They will help you as much as they can.
Are you not a beach person? No Problem, you can also refresh yourself at the Waterfall in Uvita. You can jump into one of the natural pools or slide down the waterfall there. An adrenaline kick that you will not forget. And there you can also walk around and enjoy the beautiful nature that the spot provides for you.
After that adventurous day, you can eat dinner at La Colonia or cook in your kitchen in your hotel room.
