Uwe, the German administrator of Playa Ventanas, greeted us with freshly brewed coffee. Three years ago, he arrived to take care of this piece of paradise, without speaking a word of Spanish. He brought with him a great love for plants, and he has been planting hundreds of orchids and fruit trees on the sprawling property.

Once you park your car in the secure area where you should pay a small contribution to the maintenance of the property, you will be directed to the beach through the beautiful rows of tall coconut palm trees and lush vegetation.

The view is awesome; the sand is soft with enough shade under the palm trees, on both ends of the beach are enormous rocks with lush vegetation extending to the sea. However, the most impressive feature is “the caves.”

At high tide, depending on the volume of the surge, powerful water jets are expelled from the caves with such force the water turns into a fine mist.

Ventanas beach is relatively safe for swimming, and moderate waves are appealing to beginner surfers. At low tide, you can walk to the south end where the river coming from the mountain becomes a fun play area for children because of its shallow waters.
You might want to bring your cooler for a picnic and spend the day in harmony with nature.
For your convenience, there are showers and toilets at the entrance to the property.
