Before moving to Costa Ballena permanently, Brian Sylvester from Florida and his wife had traveled regularly to their dreamland.  They used to go to Nosara and Tamarindo, but on a surfing trip to Pavones in 1992, Brian fell in love with the area around Dominical.

From childhood, he enrolled in all the available art classes; at that time, he was particularly interested in drawing.  Only when a friend asked him to paint a huge tarpon on his wall, he surprised himself noticing it turned out to be magnificent.  After college, he started working with a marketing company, earning good money.  After a sudden change in life, he spent more time painting art, and his creativity literally exploded, and he started selling his work successfully.

When Brian and Kelly finally decided to move to Costa Rica, they started living in Guapil, and later, they moved to the heights of San Martin, which, due to its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, has a very inspiring environment.  Both love nature, and their new community; their two kids attend Escuela Verde, the first bilingual private school in the area.  Brian works as a freelance designer for the marine industry, boats and ocean creatures are his favorite motives.  Especially in the Dominical area, you will find him represented in many commercial signs, and you can admire his most-recent creation at the entrance of Tortilla Flats.
