On September 25th, the USA Today, in its section “beach experience,” published an article of their journey through Costa Rica beaches. It was a pleasure to learn that Colonia Beach (Chaman) was mentioned as one of the ten most recommended surfing beaches in Costa Rica: 1 Salsa Brava 2 Playa Hermosa, 3 Ollie’s Point. 4 Jaco Beach. 5 Matapalo. 6  Playa Colonia. 7 Samara Beach.8 Playa Guiones. 9 Boca Barranca. 10 Playa Avellanas.

The locals will confirm Colonia Beach is one of the most recommended for beginners. It is a paradise for surfers, with a tropical beach that is never crowded.

Colonia Beach is also known as Chaman Beach, and it is located within the Marino Ballena National Park. New surfers will be delighted with the sandy bottom and smooth breaking waves. It never gets too busy; therefore, advanced surfers don’t have to worry about the amateurs.

Conditions are good throughout the year. It is ideal for beginners.
