The Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of Costa Ballena de Osa (CACOBA) is an organization founded in 2011 by and for entrepreneurs in the tourism industry, shops, tourist centers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, retailers, managers of workshops, in short, all persons and associations interested in the better development of Costa Ballena de Osa.

The Chamber´s goal is the development of tourism in the area of Costa Ballena in Osa and to help protect and conserve its natural resources and the eco-systems therein. The Chamber strives to serve and help its members.

Some of the specific objectives of the Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of Costa Ballena de Osa (CACOBA) are facilitate the marketing tools to improve and extend the touristic offer, and support and organize events to attract more tourists, creating better conditions in the purchase and sale of products, improving the safety in Costa Ballena, cooperate with local government, ICT and organizations in the South Pacific, Costa Rica..

The current main goal of the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism of Costa Ballena (CACOBA) is to create a platform that helps local business owners grow and develop new opportunities, and give the Chamber a stronger voice to converse with government entities and developer groups. The platform is made up of 12 key programs, each with its own chair and committee. CACOBA encourages anyone interested to get in touch and get involved.

CACOBA members recently elected Mr. Perry Gladstone as their new president, and other new board members. Mr. Gladstone feels very excited about the many opportunities for growth in Costa Ballena. He has opened a new office for CACOBA in Uvita, on the second floor of Plaza Perla del Pacífico, where his team of Costa Ballena business professionals meet to foster economic development and bring more customers to the area.

Mr. Oscar Zeledón – vice-president, leads the Safety Council, being at the same time a board member of CAP on Crime, thus facilitating the communication between both organizations.
