Ballena Tales Magazine & Travel Guide, Issue #53
Are we the ones we have been waiting for?
I think the time is NOW to create better and healthier lifestyles, invest in education, learn new skills, become involved in our community, collaborate, instill character and values in young people, be responsible; and last and for sure not least, have fun, love life and share the good times with your family, friends, and neighbors.
Costa Ballena, in the South Pacific, is an awesome place to live. This zone is blessed with summery temperatures all year round, lush vegetation, beaches, waterfalls, and mountains with an amazing wildlife. The Coastal Highway, the connection between the capital and Costa Ballena, was only recently opened and the small towns along the coast are still a little laid-back which gives them their charm. Life is not always easy here and thank goodness is not to everybody’s liking.
Proud to share information on excellent initiatives, I invite you to read our interview with a specialist in birds, biologist Susana García Blanco; check out the great job “Happy Feet” is doing . We very much enjoyed the Afro Flow Yoga sessions at the new Hart Center. Our Art Director, Philippe Chapuy, started a series about plants in Costa Rica. César Barrio Amorós dares to have a scorpion wandering on his forehead.
Stephen Brooks, an eminence in permaculture and partner in Envision, visited the Varela Family in Uvita and shared his secret on “how to spend more time in a hammock”. Laura Vega tells us more about the Summer Festival to be celebrated on the grounds of Ballena Bistro.
Feel cordially invited to have fun at Sud – a new unconventional restaurant in Ojochal . And last not least, in Puerto Jiménez, we visited a chocolate farm where we learned so much .
So go ahead and check it all out; you will like it! ¡Pura vida!
