Catalina and Valeria, in addition to being sisters, are young entrepreneurs. Duringthe last 16 years, Catalina acquired great experience while managing “Esquinas Rainforest Lodge,” an ecological and sustainable pioneer hotel in Costa Rica.
Her “little” sister Valeria became a tourism graduate and worked in several hotels in the South Pacific for a period of six years.
With similar careers and great love for the environment and customer service, they decided to open their own business. Catalina traveled to Manuel Antonio and spent time in Nosara searching for the perfect opportunity.
Feeling disappointed, she returned to Golfito, and in a twist of fate, she found the “Castle” in a fishermen’s neighborhood at the Golfo Dulce shore. Today, the castle is known as Hostal del Mar.
It features spacious and well-ventilated rooms, shared bathrooms and showers. Most of them have beautiful views and some of the rooms even have terraces. The large living room includes comfortable sofas. There are beautiful gardens, and a relaxing patio. Breakfast is included in the price.
From the terrace or the private pier, you can observe dolphins, manta rays, and all kinds of aquatic birds.
The enormity of Golfo Dulce is tangible, and the distant view of the Osa Peninsula is outstanding.
A breathtaking aquatic environment is waiting to be discovered: navigate the mangroves, the small island, or the botanical garden on a boat.
The service and kindliness offered by management and staff have the quality of a fie star-rating. You´ll feel at home where the local culture is shared with the visitor.
You will enjoy beyond believe this unique hostel in the Golfo Dulce.
